Basically, we can group processess leading to the neutrino emission into two groups: Thermal neutrino emission depends only on temperature and electron density. Three classic processes are:
  1. Pair-annihilation:

    Pair W exchange (charged current) Pair Z decay (neutral current)
  2. Plasmon decay:

    Plasma W exchange (charged current) Plasma Z decay (neutral current)
  3. Photoproduction:

    Photo W exchange (charged current) Photo Z decay (neutral current)
